Nature Animation - Wind

An animation that was to fit with certain a set of criteria.

It was to have a nature theme and has a set of looping animation included. It was also to have music.

This one was a wind themed animation.

I'm pretty happy with the stylized animation in this pieced.

I don't feel this one came out quite as well as I would have liked, but all in all I find the colours work well. I quite like the trees.

I'd like to work on more pieces with a style like this.

Music used: Flower Fields Rondo, copy right Paper Mario, Nintendo.

Nature Animation - Water

An animation that was to fit with certain a set of criteria.

It was to have a nature theme and has a set of looping animation included. It was also to have music.

This one was a water themed animation.

I'm very happy with the stylized animation in this piece.
I think the bright colours and looping lines really portray my style well.

I'd like to work on more pieces with a style like this.

Music used: Flower Fields Rondo, copy right Paper Mario, Nintendo.

Final Run And Jump

One of my earliest pieces from second year, the Run and Jump assignment.

I'm not too thrilled with how the running segment turned out, but I'm posting this because I was really pleased with how the Jump half of it looks.

I got a lot of praise for the extra effort I put in by adding the sparkles to the jump.
I like adding little things like that.

It also made my classmates laugh, so that really had me happy, especially for a 4 second clip!

Action Analysis 1

Another animation from my first year.

I'm including this because I really enjoyed working on it.

I feel that I made the character seem believable.

But mainly I enjoyed working on the stylized backgrounds.

Having animation in it added an extra touch!

Early 2 Leg Walk Test

One of my earlier animations, from first year.
It's very basic and I've come a ways from this early start, but I think it's important to be able to look back at older work and strive to improve.

Plus a little personal reference never hurt!

Sitting Figure

This is the latest assignment for my Digital Illustration class.

We were all given specific artists in our Life Drawing Class, and were to make two paintings.

One with Traditional Media for Life Drawing, and one in Digital Media for our Digital Illustration class.

The artist I was give was Eugène Delacroix.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Delacroix

Apparently we were each give our Masters Artist for a specific reason. I'm eager to find out why.

As for the piece itself, I'm very happy with it.

It didn't take quite as long as I would have though, I did this on just one sitting, which also explains why my background isn't too much besides colour.

But I really like the colour I used, as well as how the folds on the fabric turned out.

The eye stands out more than I'd like it too, but all in all, I'm very pleased with it.

Flower Arch

Another newer piece I did for fun. I wanted to go for more of a different look, focusing on darker outlines and brighter colours.

That's probably why I don't find the line art as smooth as I usually have.
I had never really used a textured brush before, so I found that it had a good effect as a background item.

I'd like to try using more in the future.

"Oh By The Way"

"Do you think you can carry me?"

"Not very handy, is it, having no legs?"

More fan-art!

This is a scene from Chapter 10.

You're not going to understand this until after you play the GLORIOUS game that is Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.

I recommend it to everyone.

I think I'd like to try more in this style.

Merry Christmas Reiley

This was a Christmas gift for my younger brother Reiley. Thats his girlfriend Melanie on the left.

I used Photo referance for the faces, but I completely changed the clothing from jeans and a tee shirts to something a little more fancy for a 'Christmas Photo'.

The background is a little lazy, but mainly I wanted to focus on the two in the front.

Reiley loved it. He printed it off.

I was so happy!

Hopefully I can finish his twin (Connor) next!

Aerial Perspective - Mann Manor

Ah, Team Fortress. It had to be included in here eventually. One of my favorite games.

A great way to spend the night with a group of my college buddies.
Thanks to this baby, 2 years seem to have passed in no time at all.

Anyways, this is a painting made to look like a screen shot, but I left out the HUD for the sake of putting emphasis on the actual landscape itself.

The Dead Ringer turned out the especally well. I Love the glow.

Shark Boys

Awww Yeah!

This was a doodle I did in my sketch book one day of CON HEROES villains, Bruce and Melvin.

I never planned on doing anything more with this, but in the end I decided to scan it in and use it for practice.

Such an lovely obnoxious background. Fits it well I think.

DI2 - Starry Landscape

This is what I feel to be my best piece during my second year of Digital Illustration.
I received full marks on this and I'm quite proud.

My favorite part of it is the tree. I have a fondness of those swirly trees!
It's a big difference from the line art I drew on receipt paper at work I think.

Peach In Horror Land

A piece I where I first experimented on transferring my Traditional Line Art into a Digital format so I could paint it on my PC.

I have to say I was extremely pleased with the results and a lot of my later works would make use of simple, but effective gradients.

The Bleakest Valentine

This piece is fairly old now, and looking back I wish I had of had a larger selection of markers to work with, so I wouldn't of had to rely on my less than great colour pencils.

That being said I'm extremely happy with how the colours and lighting turned out over all.

I'm even more proud of the line art itself. There's a lot going on at once, not too many of my pieces are like that.

It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Here's another experimental colour piece I did. I was trying a new way to ink and shade things.
This one took quite a bit of time for me to finish, there was just so much colour in it at once.

I'm not completely happy with how the sky turned out, but I am very happy with everything else.

Colourful Landscape

One of my earlier pieces. I really enjoy the colours I used in this. It was one of my first attempts at having different colours next to each other with no ink line to divide them.

My favorite part is the tree.

Hello!

Hi There!

For all of those new to my blog, it is I, Alyssa!

I've decided to continue uploading onto this blog, and I though it would be a good idea to upload some of my own personal work.

From assignments to pieces I've had fun working on for myself, I think I'll upload some of my favorites.

Oh, and you can see the original uploads along with more art here on my DA!
